Tuesday 19th April

46300 postcards will be delivered to the post office, and over the next week will be sent to every house in Swindon. Andy Newman, the candidate will be available all day for leafleting and meeting people - if you have any spare time please ring 520903 and arrange to help.

 
Wednesday, 20th April. 9:00 am till 10:00 am

Candidate Andy Newman is on BBC Radio Swindon


10:00 am onwards - candidate will visit the Pilgrim Centre, Regent Circus for Public Inquiry on Swindon Plan - covering Coate water.

Campaign meeting - 7:30 p.m. at Central Community Centre, Emlyn Square. This is you chance to say what issues we should be tackling, and make any suggestions for the campaign. Please come along.

 

 
Thursday 21st April.

7:00 p.m.. Andy Newman the candidate will be visiting the peace camp at RAF Brize Norton, and (weather permitting) staying overnight.

 

 
Friday 22nd April

7:30. hustings at St John's church Haydon Wick. Organised by Swindon Churches Together.  We need help asking questions, handing out leaflets and taking names of potential supporters.

 

 
Saturday 23rd April.

Peace march from Carterton to RAF Brize Norton. Car share from Swindon meeting at 11:00 am at Friends Meeting House, Eastcott Hill. Please ring 520903 if you want to come, and please consider being a car driver.

 

 
Sunday 24th April

7:30 p.m., hustings at Highworth Methodist Church - Lechlade Road, Highworth. We need help asking questions, handing out leaflets and taking names of potential supporters. Organised by Highworth churches.

 

 
Monday 25th April.

Hustings at New College. in the Theatre from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30pm. This is a very important opportunity to meet young people. We need help handing out leaflets and taking names of potential supporters.

Hustings organised by the Evening Advertiser, 7:30 p.m., Penhill Primary School.. We need help asking questions, handing out leaflets and taking names of potential supporters.

 

 
Thursday 28th April.

Public meeting organised by Swindon Branch of the Communist Party. "Vote Labour - why?" A debate between candidate Andy Newman, and Rob Griffiths, General Secretary of the Communist Party.

7:30 p.m., Central Community Centre, Euclid Street, railway Village. this will be a very interesting debate and you are encouraged to attend (see enclosed leaflet)

 

 
Saturday 30th April:

Street meetings and leafleting. Meet outside the co-op in Gorse Hill, Cricklade Road at 11:30.


Sunday, 1st may - details to be arranged. Probably leafleting and motorcade with a megaphone.

 
Tuesday 3rd May.

7:30 p.m.. Stop the War Coalition hustings. Steam Museum, Kemble Drive, Chaired by Lord Stoddart of Swindon. We need help asking questions, handing out leaflets and taking names of potential supporters.

 
Thursday 5th May.

Election Day - we need help all day at polling booths, and do you want to come to the count?

 
Fund-raising - we are still several hundreds of pounds short of target. Direct financial contributions are always helpful. But we will also be doing car boot sales over the summer to recoup the money we have spent. Please look out any saleable items and ring Andy and Liz on 612409
