DAGENHAM TOGETHER
Dave Landau
Hope not Hate - Count Me In
DAY OF ACTION AGAINST THE BNP
Saturday 12 March 2005
10am to 7pm
Meet at the Labour Hall
Junction of Tenterden Road and Green Lane, Dagenham
(nearest stations Dagenham Heathway (tube) and Chadwell Heath,
buses 5, 87, 103, 128, 150, 173, 175 pass nearby)
The British National Party has designated the Dagenham and Barking
constituencies as its key targets for the general election. The BNP
candidate in Dagenham is Lawrence Rustem, who came close to winning a
council seat in two by-elections last year. Richard Barnbrook, the BNP's
London regional organiser, will fight Barking.
The BNP's victory in Goresbrook ward last September was gained with more
than 50% of the poll. The BNP sees a high vote in the general election as a
launch pad for serious gains in the borough elections in May 2006.
The day of action will be hosted by Dagenham Together, a broad-based
community group similar to Redbridge Together. The aim of the day is to
bring together a large number of anti-fascists to distribute an eight-page
election special newspaper that will feature local issues as well as take a
look at the criminal BNP nationally.
Our target is to deliver 50,000 copies of this paper during the course of
the day. From our experience this is an achievable aim if we have enough
dedicated people on the ground.
Please pass on this call to your friends, neighbours and colleagues and join
with us in helping to make all parts of London a no-go area for the BNP.
