i.
what do you think is the most important issue in this election?

I think it is crucial that the major parties be shown that they cannot lie to us any more, and that unless we change our ways the ecology of the planet is likely to fail.

ii.
why did you make the decision to stand in this constituency and for this party (as an independent)?

I have stood in every election of the last ten years to enable voters to register their environmental concerns

iii.
what kind of vote are you expecting on May 5th?

I expect to double my vote, although Sir Michael Spicer (MP since 1973) is still  likely to win (again)

iv.
aside from the vote what are you hoping to get out of this campaign?

Increase the core green vote

v.
in your view what is the greatest threat to our civil liberties at the moment?

The government

vi.
Blair has taken us to war three times since coming to power (not including the occasional ad hoc bombing raid) in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. Can war ever be justified?

War has always occurred, but there is something particularly unpleasant about the American approach to it, as a force linked to commercial
interests. I think a just war is extremely rare.

vii.
There is very little left to privatise in this country, if you had your way what would be brought into public hands?

transport

viii.
Some environmental campaigners have started talking about nuclear power as a way to bring down CO2 emissions - what do you think of this?

It's more short-termism, though there is little else we can do except cut our energy use in half.

ix.
Asylum and immigration will be central issues in this election. What action on this issue would you like to see the next government push
through?

I would like to see a sensible, unemotive policy that separates asylum from illegal immigration and remembers that there is a demographic time bomb ticking away which requires a larger workforce than we possess. Britain is not the great hearted target that we say we are. We trail behind many other nations in permitting immigration.

x.
What question do you wish was on this list but doesn't appear?

How long do you think we can continue in this unsustainable economy?

If Britain is the 4th wealthiest nation in the world, why is there such a lack of money?

Where does the 43% taken by the government actually go to?
