We vow to thee my country

Following recent controversy over the hymn "I Vow To Thee My Country" the
BBC ran a competition for updated versions.  This was my entry:
 

With justice within reason
and prudent, measured care

There's work for all, with wages
that nearly cover it

And you'll get a smashing pension
if resources will permit

We'll build the new tomorrow
somewhere along the line

No room for racial hatred
but bombing Arabs' fine

We govern as New Labour
as we told you to expect

Now don't you dare go thinking
you could do with some Respect!
