Myths of the Movement

Mother Courage

Debate is the lifeblood of democracy, and as socialists we are extreme democrats. In a democracy people take different views and make different decisions. So far so good. What is not so good is the way people invent myths and spin reality to justify that their decisions are always right, or the decisions of other groups or individuals  are always wrong. In the relentless struggle between these sectional interests it is a small victory for truth to survive, but without truth there is no true democracy.

Mother Courage examines the myths being promoted by the left, both in published and internal sources, and compare them with reality. Sometimes controversial, sometimes bloody irritating but always unswerving in her attack upon the rock hard intransigence that lies at the heart of sectarianism.
